Hats from Norway

A perfect fit!

Introducing Sofie!

After four days of travel, that included a few days sightseeing in NYC, Sofie arrived at around 3:30 this afternoon! It was a whirlwind and seemed to happen so fast, but it was an experience I will NEVER forget. There were some families greeting their students about twenty minutes before Sofie arrived. And of course, I got all teary thinking that was going to be us in a matter of minutes!

Mary Lou arrived to be the official photographer (thank you!) because I couldn't have handled the posters, flags, kids, proper greeting and be expected to take fantastic video and photos too.

We spotted Sofie as she came down the ramp and Kailey noticed her right away. She started yelling, "Sofie, Sofie, Sofie!" And ran up to her and gave her a huge hug and pretty much didn't leave her side until we made her go to bed.

I ask, is there a better way to be greeted into a new family?

It was wonderful and we know it is the beginning of many exciting times to come!

So many boys, so little time

Our neighbor just sent me these pictures from the air show. They are so incredibly sweet, that I just had to post them. I truly hope that Kailey always keeps her outgoing personality. Whether we are at the store, playground or at school, she doesn't meet a stranger. Sometimes she talks too much or gets a little too loving, but she always gravitates toward new friends and definitely isn't shy. These two had such a blast and we are lucky to have them as neighbors!

Paul's been messing with things!

Sofie, we're still thrilled to have you, and I'm sorry our welcome post was lost. Paul was trying to add things and he's not familiar with the blog lay-out. He accidentally deleted our BIG NEWS post...thank goodness it wasn't the entire blog.

We've been communicating with Sofie and she is as cute as a button. I think the big high school will be slightly overwhelming for her, but since Paul and I both came from big schools, we hope we can help her with this.

Oh this is so exciting...can't wait!

We also have to keep telling Kailey that Sofie isn't coming for a few more bath times. Each morning she wakes up and says, "Sofie, Sofie, Sofie!" Nope, not here...yet!

Keeping Watch

Our deck has really been our favorite spot this summer. We've had cookouts, water table splashing, S'mores, bike riding and overall summer mayhem. Trevor and Kailey are getting to be good buddies...really good buddies. But, if you notice closely, look whose feet are hanging out to make sure that everything stays on the up and up. Gotta love that pesky little brother!
