Mom's gotta have fun too...

Daily tasks, such as bath time, sometimes become monotonous.
No faux-hawk here, just lots of laughs! Take that, Sanjaya!

Owen the Screamer

Okay, I'll admit it, Owen is a screamer. He cries through most of the day. It's exhausting. We are willing to try anything. We stumbled upon the 'Bumbo' seat and are hoping that it will work a miracle. He looks pretty happy here...only time will tell!

Friends

Kailey has many good buddies through our extended Coast Guard family, but none as good as Sarah. Sarah is only four months older than Kailey, but is always on the look out for her tiny little friend. Being that Sarah is the youngest of three, she knows the ropes somewhat better than Kailey. We're lucky to have such good friends!

Buddies!

Jury's out on whether to have any more kids, but who'd need anymore with these two cuties?

Out for a Stroll

Surprisingly, Spring has actually sprung in Northern Michigan! We decided to take advantage of the sixty degree weather with a stroll around the neighborhood in our nifty double stroller. Kailey was such a good big sister and kept checking to see if "Owie" was okay. These two are already great buddies!

FAN-atics

Let March Madness begin! As Buckeye fans, it's quite unusual to place all of our hopes with the basketball team. However, since the implosion of the football team during the national title game, we are hoping to lick a few wounds with our fabulous Freshman team. Until kick-off next fall, nothing will completely heal the football hang-over, but a good showing in the tournament may help things out a little.

The inital blog!

When I first started teaching, I kept funny quotes, anecdotes, events and other items to be included in my book "It Should Have Been a Snow Day!" (With title help from Amy!) Since I haven't been in the classroom in almost three years and those stories started almost ten years ago (gasp!) I doubt the book is going to happen anytime soon. The irony of the title was that I was teaching in South Florida where Hurricane Days, rather than Snow Days were the norm. Now, we live in Northern Michigan where 4-8 inches of snow will fall without anyone batting an eye...let alone a free day from school. Before the thaw began last week, we had almost two feet(yes, feet) of snow on the ground. Local schools were only called off two times the entire season!

This blog will hopefully keep everyone who cares to read, up to date on the latest events from our lives as well as serve as a journal of my little ones.

Enjoy and thanks for visiting!
