Siblings

Sometimes I'll go back and look at old videos I've posted just to reminisce. I started to realize that most of our videos have to end because Kailey's beating up or picking on Owen. It really doesn't paint a very accurate picture of how Kailey feels about her brother. Of course she gets sick of him at times, but what siblings don't get sick of each other? Now, I KNOW Nancy never got sick of me...ever...I was simply her play toy. Likewise, Nancy was the coolest thing on the planet in all her Rick Springfield hair, blue eyeshadow glory! Anyhow, today Kailey and Owen were walking all around the house holding hands. Everywhere they went, one would reach for the other and off they would go. Despite what I broadcast over YouTube, they truly adore each other. Each morning, after we get Owen from his crib, he bangs on Kailey's door, and yells "Kai-ee, Kai-ee!" She mothers him and tells him, "Don't cry little boy, you'll be okay." We have always hoped that through think and thin, no matter where we go, they will always love each other. It looks like, for the most part, they're off to a good start.

Kailey's Favorite Magazine

We're fortunate that our kids love to read. We've been reading to them since I was pregnant, so I'm sure that has something to do with it, but they truly love their books. When Kailey was about Owen's age, she decided her favorite book was the phone book. She's sit for an hour and happily flip through the pages looking at who knows what. She'd have really grubby little fingers, but was otherwise thrilled.

She now has discovered a new favorite...The Oriental Trading Company catalogue. It makes her so happy. It includes all sorts of junk that any three year old would love, plus it includes all of her friends: The princesses, Backyardigans and pirates!

Furture's so bright...

...I gotta wear shades. We've been practicing for the sunny days that lie ahead. (Actually, it's supposed to be in the upper 50's today...woohoo!). Our neighbor friend outgrew his sunglasses and passed them on to Owen, who thinks they are fantastic. He now walks around the house wearing the sunglasses with the appropriate attitude to match. Kailey got her sun glasses last year, and of course, they still fit. How cool are these two?

On a side note, since Owen was a few months old, we have been taking pictures of the two of them in the same chair. I didn't do it on purpose, but it's interesting to look back and compare their growth.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Happy Birthday, Grandma! Yes, Grandma was born on 4-4-44 at 4:00 p.m. How cool is that? Kailey and Owen want to wish Grandma the very best birthday possible. Please disregard the 'comb issue' at the end of the song...after all, it wouldn't be a good video without a little brother/sisterly "love".
