Soccer Pictures!

Sofie scored another goal in one of the three games at the Portage tournament this weekend!

These are some pictures from the last few games. The big rivalry game was last Thursday between West and Central (Why there's no Traverse City East is beyond me, but the other school is Central). Central is traditionally, really, really good and the score was tied at 0-0...not too shabby! They have a rematch on May 5...Go Titans!

DONE!!!!!!!!

It's official! While I won't receive my diploma until this summer, all graduation requirements are finished and I am D-O-N-E. These last few months have been highly stressful without a moment to spare due to the endless assignments, tasks, papers, etc.

I couldn't have accomplished this major goal without the overwhelming support from family and friends. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

But for now, HORRAY! No more papers, no more books...

Titan Soccer...GO SOFIE!!!

Pictures to come soon...only 8 more days until my grad. assignments are all done and due! Then, I will be back to my blogging form.
Anyhow, Sofie is officially the starting forward on the Titan Girls Soccer Team. Oh, that's not all! In their first game,

Sofie scored the only goal!!!!!!
Unfortunately, some other girl on the other team also scored a goal after Sofie, so the score ended up 1-1.
But our girl rocks it! She's one tough cookie on that soccer field and is SUCH a role model, especially to her rowdy pre-school cheering section. (They just don't understand why she can't wave to them or hug them while she's playing!)
Go Sofie! And I promise, next week, pictures, pictures, pictures!

Snow Be Gone...

I'm really just carefully layered from the snow, I haven't gained 20 pounds, but this picture gives a good idea of how high the snow was on the sides of our driveway.

Is chivalry dead? Miss Kailey is a liberated woman pulling those boys!

The snow behind us was just the plowed snow from the high school parking lot, not a hill. Lot's of fun to climb, ready for it to melt.

We have had a cruel, rough, long winter. So far, we're over 12 feet of snow for this year. We're expecting temperatures above freezing all week, and are really hoping for 'the thaw'. Here are some photos that we took a while ago. It will give a true appreciation of the ridiculous amounts of snow we've had here. You know it's bad when Sofie, from NORWAY thinks it's a lot of snow!

Varisty Bound!

Miss Sofie made Varsity Soccer!
Yes, our girl made Varsity on her own merits and has so far trounced the competition (okay, maybe I'm exaggerating on that one, but she's awesome!). They had their first scrimmages today and drastically improved over the three games. They only had one practice as a team before today, so they did very well, considering. She still doesn't know what position she's going to play, but is sure to see lots of playing time.
I can now classify myself as an official soccer mom. And yes, just for good measure, I did test drive a mini-van this week and LOVED it!
Anyhow, YEAH SOFIE! Great job! We're all so proud of you!!!!

Okay, I know, I know

I've really been slacking, but my goodness, have I been busy! I have only one month and four days until ALL of my paper work, assignments, portfolios and interviews have to be done prior to May graduation. So, I know I have some followers and I apologize, but I will do my very best to give some updates.

Hang on to your hats...here we go!

Snowcoming

Kailey waiting for the girls to arrive. She was appropriately dressed in her favorite princess dress with matching shoes.

She's here! She's here!

Explaining to Owen that he can't go with her. K taking pictures in the back. All the princesses ready for a great evening.

The three sweet ones of the Smith House

No, it's not the weather forecast, but West's winter semi-formal. Sofie was dolled up to the nines and went with a lovely group of girls. They were heading over to another friend's house for pizza, or out to dinner, or somewhere before the dance. (They still weren't sure...planning girls!). Anyhow, Kailey was again, thrilled to see the princesses. But, I think we have a little Casanova in the making, as Owen was ready to trade in his football gear and be the girls' escort. Enjoy the photos, Sofie was, of course, absolutely beautiful!
